Abstract

Several new types of academic work and publications have emerged as a result of the widespread adoption of digital research tools in the field of humanities. For these genres to flourish, they require novel approaches to the dissemination of information and the presentation of it. In the event that the findings of digital research are not included in the traditional academic communication processes of publication, discovery, access-provision, maintenance, and preservation, there is a possibility that the integrity of the scholarly record could be compromised. Publishing, searching, sharing, updating, and archiving are some of the approaches that fall under this category. A subgenre of digital humanities thematic research collections is the subject of this work, which focuses on reviewing that subgenre. A number of primary sources have been compiled into digital collections in order to facilitate the process of learning about a specific topic. There are a vast variety of forms, goals, and intentions contained within this type of literature, despite the fact that it is widely read and highly disseminated. An technique that can be taken to acquire a comprehensive understanding of the genre as a whole is to recognise and symbolise the various types of collections. The approach can be utilized to accomplish this goal. The purpose of this research is to investigate the concept, the execution, and the challenges associated with offering digital academic resources that are always accessible and easily available within the context of topical study collections.
